Give each chart a job
Use price to mark the levels and trend. Use futures cumulative delta to see whether aggressive buying or selling is moving price. Use options CVD to spot unusual activity in SPX, SPY and QQQ.
Atlas can show where price sits relative to dealer levels. For now, it is extra context. We still need to study whether it improves the setups.
Read the order of events
Imagine price reaching resistance. Futures delta keeps rising, but price cannot break through. Then one options CVD line separates from the others, and price loses a nearby low. That is a sequence of clues, not one automatic signal.
That example is hypothetical. In a real session, record when each clue became visible. A label or completed bar may appear only after price has already moved.
When the tools disagree
If options flow looks bullish while futures fall, pay attention. But options traders are not automatically right. Some trades may be closing positions or may be one part of a larger trade.
A weak market can also have strongly positive futures delta. The useful clue is that all that buying failed to lift price. The delta number does not tell price where it must go.
Compare the same session
Use the same date and session on every chart. Remember that ES and SPX trade at different prices, so an SPX level cannot be copied straight onto ES.
A ten-second futures chart shows more detail than a one-minute options chart. Use the charts to compare the sequence of events rather than expecting every turn to appear on the same bar.
The chart and the trade are different
An SPX flow clue may lead to a trade in another market. We are interested in using QQQ for some rebounds, but we still need to compare entries, exits and risk before calling it the better choice.
A QQQ price chart cannot tell us what a QQQ option returned. We would need the exact contract, expiration, strike and real bid and ask prices.
Keep a simple session record
Save the full session before cropping the best part. Write down what happened, what you think it meant, what else could explain it and what would prove the idea wrong. Keep the days when nothing happened too.
The first question is simple: does the flow clue improve the same price setup without it? Great examples help explain an idea, but they cannot prove it works.
