Options flow reaches an extreme. ES turns lower.

Under the Price EditorialUpdated 2 min read
THE SHORT ANSWERSPX and SPY options CVD pushed higher while QQQ lagged. ES reached its morning high without matching strength in futures cumulative delta, then reversed lower. The disagreement across both charts warned that the rally was losing support.
MAXIMUM MOVE SHOWNAbout 40–41 ES points from the session high to the later low (roughly 0.52%–0.53%).

SPX and SPY options flow climbed strongly into the morning, but QQQ did not confirm the same degree of strength. The marked SPX extreme formed near the ES morning high.

On the futures chart, cumulative delta was already below its earlier peak as ES completed the push higher.

ES rejected the high and turned lower. After an attempted recovery, price continued down into the later session low.

The full high-to-low decline shown on the chart was roughly 40–41 ES points.

Why was it interesting?

This was a bearish divergence across two kinds of flow. QQQ did not fully participate in the options-flow strength, and futures delta did not confirm the final ES push to the high.

The setup was more informative than the SPX extreme alone because the missing confirmation appeared in both comparisons.

What should we watch next time?

When SPX or SPY flow surges near an ES high, check whether QQQ is participating and whether futures delta is making a corresponding high.

If both are weaker, watch the price response around the most recent support rather than treating the strong options reading as automatically bullish.
